The Ocean Pines Players, a non-profit community theater group, has been entertaining audiences on the Eastern Shore since 1974.
We not only aim to produce high quality theatrical experiences for the enjoyment of the community, but we also take seriously our role as a community service organization. After our expenses, all of our profits go toward a scholarship program to support talented and hard-working students who wish to pursue higher education in the performing arts. In addition, we are pleased to make ourselves available to churches, community organizations, and other community service groups for fund-raising activities.
We produce at least two full-length plays per year, in addition to shorter pieces, skits, street theater, and variety shows.
We are proud to announce that the Players have awarded a Youth Performing Arts Scholarship to Stephen Decatur High School student, Kate Carpenter. Kate is a "triple threat," who can dance, act, and sing and has been performing locally for several years. Most recently, she portrayed Belle in the Ocean Pines Youth Theater production of Beauty and the Beast at the Ocean City Convention Center. Her dream is to perform professionally on Broadway and she recently got one big step closer when she was accepted to the extremely competitive and elite Summer Musical Theater Intensive at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. There, she will receive advanced training in vocal technique, acting, dancing, and auditioning, as well as attend master classes with Broadway professionals. We are delighted to be able to help her make her dream come true!
